 Biography

Mahnaz Rezvani is an Iranian-American artist, born and raised in Iran and moved to the U.S. at the age of 18. Since her early childhood she had been interested in art. Whenever she could, she would spend her time sketching natural landscapes and capturing the nature on paper. She began to notice her passion for art in high school where she excelled as her school’s newspaper editor, writing poetry and illustrating for the articles. Mahnaz was surrounded by art that her grandfather, Saeed Sharifrazi, a famous Iranian painter and sculptor, had created. She was specifically interested in his oil paintings, and this environment allowed her artistic potential to thrive. Her love of ancient Persia, ancient Egypt and ancient Roman art and architecture influenced her spiritualistic & mystic approach to the art of painting.

After graduating art school, Mahnaz moved to the U.S. to follow her passion for art. Mahnaz expanded her knowledge and technical skills after taking a wide range of art courses, as well as studying under some of the most well-known oil painting masters. Under their guidance, Mahnaz developed her own style, a fusion of surrealism and naturalism that depicts tranquil, yet surreal paintings. Over the last few years she has created an eclctic collection of artwork. Many of these paintings have been on display in art exhibitions in the Southern California area. Mahnaz has over 20 years of experience in various styles of painting such as miniature, realism, abstract, surrealism, landscape & naturalism and has sold many of her paintings. She currently resides in Orange County, CA.
